New digital kiosks will enable investors to obtain essential company documents around the clock, using automated identity verification and biometric authentication, as part of Egypt’s efforts to accelerate investment-related digital transformation.
Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Farid, has announced the launch of the trial operation of self-service kiosks for investor services, allowing investors to obtain a range of official documents and services through simplified digital procedures without human intervention.
The announcement was made during his participation in the Cairo International Technology Exhibition and Conference (Cairo ICT 2026).
Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), explained that the self-service kiosks enable investors to obtain essential corporate documents, including certified copies of articles of incorporation, certificates of incorporation, and establishment letters for sole proprietorships.
The services will be available around the clock, giving investors greater flexibility and reducing their reliance on traditional working hours and physical service centers.
Automated identity verification and biometric authentication
Awad noted that the kiosks go beyond simply issuing and printing documents, operating through an integrated electronic identity verification system that authenticates investors before providing services.
The system allows Egyptian citizens to verify their identities using national ID cards, while foreign investors can complete electronic identity verification through their passports.
The automated process includes reading and validating passport information, matching identity documents, and using biometric verification technologies, including facial recognition.
The system also supports additional verification procedures linked to relevant government authorities, enhancing the reliability and security of services provided to investors.
Expanding self-service access across Egypt
Awad said GAFI plans to gradually expand the deployment of self-service kiosks across its investor service centers and other investment-related government entities.
The expansion will provide investors with multiple options for obtaining official documents, either through the nearest investor service center or through the new self-service kiosks.
GAFI currently operates 15 investor service centers across Egypt, providing nationwide coverage and facilitating access to investment-related services.
The Authority expects the kiosks to handle an average of 5,200 transactions per month, representing approximately 23% of the total transactions processed by its investor service centers.
This capacity is expected to significantly reduce the time and effort required to complete administrative procedures and obtain essential corporate documents.
Home delivery service for investor documents
In parallel, GAFI is preparing to introduce a new document delivery service in cooperation with Egypt Post under a cooperation protocol between the two entities.
The service will allow investors to request delivery of their official documents directly to a specified address, eliminating the need to visit an investor service center.
The initiative is designed to enable same-business-day document delivery, further simplifying procedures and improving the overall investor experience.
Awad emphasized that GAFI will continue implementing its digital transformation strategy, with the aim of adopting international best practices in service delivery, particularly in reducing processing times and the number of procedures required to provide services to investors.
