Khazna Acquires Pharos Consumer Finance to Secure FRA License

Khazna Capital, part of Khazna, a financial technology company focused on serving underserved consumers across the Middle East, has completed its acquisition of Pharos Consumer Finance Company from Pharos Holding, in a move aimed at strengthening its presence in Egypt’s consumer finance market.

The transaction, completed earlier this year, enables Khazna to obtain a consumer finance license from Egypt’s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), supporting the company’s plans to expand access to regulated financing products for Egyptians underserved by traditional banking services.

Following the acquisition, Khazna has also begun deploying credit lines from financial institutions, supporting its efforts to expand its financing capabilities and develop its consumer finance platform in the Egyptian market.

The deal marks a strategic step in Khazna’s long-term expansion plans, leveraging its business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) partnership model, which is backed by users’ salaries and pensions. According to the company, this approach supports distribution efficiency, credit risk management and customer trust.

Zaki Hashem, Attorneys at Law, served as the legal counsel for the transaction, providing legal advice and support throughout the acquisition process.

Khazna is a consumer-focused financial technology company that provides digital financial solutions to underserved communities across the Middle East, helping individuals access services that support their financial needs.

Pharos Consumer Finance Company, formerly part of Pharos Holding, is a licensed consumer finance provider in Egypt. It offers regulated credit products and focuses on responsible lending to meet the needs of diverse consumer segments.
