Egyptian pop superstar Amr Diab delivered a lively performance in El Gouna on Thursday, combining contemporary hits with some of the most celebrated songs from his extensive musical catalogue. The concert took place on the sidelines of the ninth El Gouna Film Festival, with two of his older favourites emerging among the evening’s highlights.
Known to fans as “El Hadaba,” Diab opened the show with Ya Ana Ya La, followed by a series of popular tracks, including Khatfoony, El-Hazz, Shayef Amar, Weyah, Lawla El Banat and Baba.
He then took the audience through some of his best-known hits, performing Qamarain, Nour El Ain and Laily Nahary, before adding a nostalgic touch with songs such as Allem Alby and Allah Ala Hobak Enta.
The setlist also featured Bel Hob Etgama’na, Yhemmak Fi Eh and Geitlak, bringing together different stages of the singer’s career in a performance that appealed to longtime fans and newer listeners alike.
The concert attracted a number of prominent Egyptian actors and filmmakers, including Yousra, Tarek El Eryan, Ahmed Dawood, Ola Roshdy, Khaled El Sawy and Tamer Habib.
A Return to El Gouna
Diab’s appearance marked another return to the Red Sea resort town, where he also performed in October 2025 as part of the eighth edition of the El Gouna Film Festival.
His performance this year comes during an active period for his music career, following new releases and growing international recognition.
In July, Diab released Habeitek, his 36th studio album, featuring 12 tracks. The album followed his 2025 release, Ebtadena, and brought together longtime collaborators and new creative voices.
Among the contributors was 17-year-old composer Adham Bahgat Amar, who made his professional composing debut with the track Salam Kbeer.
Guinness World Records Recognition
In September, Diab secured a Guinness World Records title after spending 69 weeks at the top of Billboard Arabia’s Artist 100 chart, adding another milestone to a career spanning decades and helping cement his position in the Arab music industry.
The achievement followed a year marked by continued musical releases and live performances, reflecting the singer’s enduring popularity across generations.
Upcoming Concerts
Diab is also scheduled to perform at several international and regional destinations in the coming months. According to his official website, his upcoming concerts include Dubai on 7 November, Cairo on 3 December, London on 20 December and Oberhausen, Germany, on 23 December.
