The 2026 initiative brings together seven Mövenpick properties in Egypt to support local communities through donations, volunteering and charity partnerships.
Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has launched the 11th edition of its global Kilo of Kindness initiative, running from 26 October to 27 November 2026, with more than 90 hotels worldwide partnering with local charities to collect essential goods for communities in need.
The campaign invites guests, Heartists®️ and local communities to contribute items including non-perishable food, school supplies, clothing and personal care products, with donations tailored to the needs identified by each hotel’s charity partner.
Since its launch in 2015, Kilo of Kindness has collected more than 130,000 kilograms of essential goods, bringing together hotel teams, guests and charitable organisations in support of local communities.
This year’s edition also marks a new phase in the initiative’s development. Beyond the annual collection campaign, participating hotels will continue community activities throughout the year, including volunteering, fundraising and other forms of local support.
Mövenpick will measure the initiative’s impact not only by the volume of goods collected, but also by the volunteer hours contributed by Heartists®️, funds raised for local causes, community activities delivered and charity partnerships supported.
“Kindness is at the heart of Mövenpick, and Kilo of Kindness is a wonderful reflection of that spirit,” said Kerry Healy, Chief Commercial Officer for the Premium, Midscale & Economy Division, Middle East, Africa & Asia Pacific at Accor.
Healy added that the campaign reflects the region’s longstanding values of generosity, hospitality and care for others, while creating more opportunities to support communities through donations, volunteering and local partnerships throughout the year.
Seven Mövenpick hotels in Egypt join the campaign
All seven Mövenpick hotels and resorts in Egypt are participating in the 2026 campaign, working with local charities to provide essential goods and support communities across the country.
In Sharm El Sheikh, Mövenpick Resort Sharm El Sheikh is partnering with the Lovers of the Prophet Association to collect essential items for individuals and families in need. The resort is also encouraging guests and Heartists®️ to purchase Kilo of Kindness T-shirts during the campaign period, with proceeds going directly to the association.
The funds will contribute to the association’s wider charitable work, including practical and compassionate support for bereaved families.
The participating properties in Egypt are Mövenpick Cairo Media City, Mövenpick Resort & Spa El Gouna, Mövenpick Resort El Quseir, Mövenpick Resort El Sokhna, Mövenpick Resort Sharm El Sheikh, Mövenpick Resort Soma Bay and Mövenpick Resort Taba.
Each property works directly with its selected charity partner to identify the goods most needed locally, helping ensure that donations address specific community requirements. Guests and members of the public can drop off donations at participating hotels throughout the campaign, which runs until 27 November 2026.
Campaign highlights World Kindness Day
The 2026 initiative will also mark World Kindness Day on 13 November, celebrating the people behind Kilo of Kindness and the different ways generosity can make a difference.
Inspired by Mövenpick founder Ueli Prager’s belief in making the ordinary extraordinary, the campaign encourages people to turn everyday gestures into meaningful acts of support, whether by donating essential goods, volunteering time or helping someone in need.
To participate, guests and local community members can visit the Mövenpick website to find a participating hotel, check its recommended donation list and deliver suitable items to the designated Kilo of Kindness collection point between 26 October and 27 November 2026.
