Salik Company PJSC (Salik), Dubai’s exclusive toll gate operator, has announced that it will cover the cost of a transportation bus for 13 students of determination at Al Noor Training Centre for People of Determination in Dubai, helping ensure reliable access to the Centre’s educational, developmental and support programmes.
The initiative supports the Centre’s efforts to provide a supportive environment for students of determination and their families, while helping facilitate transportation to and from the Centre. By covering the cost of the school bus, Salik is contributing to easing a practical consideration for families and supporting students’ continued access to the Centre’s educational, developmental, and support programmes. The initiative reflects Salik’s approach to community responsibility through targeted contributions that respond to practical needs and create tangible value for beneficiaries.
People of determination were among the first categories exempted by Salik from road toll fees, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, alongside other facilities and support measures. Salik continues to develop community initiatives and collaborations that enhance the quality of life of people of determination and their families, support their active participation in society, and reinforce Salik’s role as an active partner in advancing inclusion and community wellbeing.
Ibrahim Al Haddad, Chief Executive Officer of Salik, said: “At Salik, we believe our responsibility to the community is reflected in meaningful partnerships that address real needs and create lasting social value. Our collaboration with Al Noor Training Centre reflects this approach by supporting access to education and enabling greater opportunities for students of determination and helping families overcome practical barriers to participation and development. These initiatives, delivered during the UAE’s Year of Family, reinforce our commitment to advancing inclusion, participation and quality of life, while contributing to a more cohesive and connected society.”
Khalid Salem Al-Halyan, Chairman of Al Noor Special Needs Centre in Dubai said:
“Accessible transportation is a vital link that enables our students to participate fully in education, therapy, vocational training and community activities. Through Salik’s generous support in covering the cost of an accessible school bus, our students will have safe, reliable and dignified access to the Centre’s programmes, while easing a significant practical burden for their families. We are deeply appreciative of this partnership, which reflects a shared commitment to inclusion, accessibility and empowering people of determination to reach their full potential.”
The collaboration builds on Salik’s wider efforts to support people of determination, including its participation in the “Dubai Communicates in Sign Language” initiative, which raised awareness of sign language as an enabler of inclusive communication. Salik is committed to promoting the social inclusion and empowerment of people of determination, reinforcing a culture of inclusive communication across all segments of society.
The two initiatives form part of Salik’s broader commitment to advancing its community responsibility, aligning with the objectives of the UAE Year of Family 2026, through supporting initiatives that address the needs of people of determination and their families, promote the values of solidarity, inclusion and social cohesion, and strengthen collaboration with institutions dedicated to humanitarian and community work.
