Egypt accounts for 37.1% of Africa’s planned hotel development pipeline, with 185 hotels comprising 45,984 rooms, as the country prepares to host the Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) Egypt on November 10–11, 2026.
Held under the auspices of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, the summit will bring together investors, developers, hotel operators, government officials and industry experts to explore investment opportunities across Egypt’s hospitality, tourism and real estate sectors.
According to the summit’s organizers, Egypt’s hotel development pipeline grew by 35.5% year-on-year, with 53 new hotel deals signed in 2025. The figures highlight the scale of planned hotel development in the country as tourism demand and investment interest continue to expand.
The event, hosted at the Sofitel Downtown Cairo Nile under the theme “Where Heritage Inspires Investment,” will focus on hospitality investment, hotel development, financing, destination development, branded residences and sustainability.
Eng. Randa Al-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, said Egypt’s continued investment in infrastructure and integrated urban communities is creating opportunities to unlock the potential of tourism, hospitality and real estate. She added that the summit provides a platform for public-private dialogue, highlighting investment opportunities and fostering partnerships that support sustainable development.
Ali Shahid, Chief Executive Officer of The Bench, the summit’s organizer, said Egypt is entering a new phase of hospitality investment, supported by an expanding development pipeline, growing tourism demand and rising interest from international investors, developers and hotel operators. He said FHS Egypt aims to connect these stakeholders and help turn market opportunities into partnerships and investment.

Egypt’s tourism sector provides further context for the summit’s focus. The country welcomed nearly 19 million tourists in 2025, a 21% increase from 2024, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The government expects arrivals to reach around 20 million in 2026, while UN Tourism reported a further 3% increase in international tourist arrivals during the first half of 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier.
As hotel development and tourism demand continue to shape the market, FHS Egypt aims to connect industry stakeholders with investment opportunities and partnerships that could support the next generation of hospitality destinations in the country.
