Emirates NBD Egypt has expanded its partnership with EFG Hermes, an EFG Holding company and a leading investment bank in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), through a new distribution agreement that will make two EFG Hermes-managed equity funds available to the bank’s clients.
The agreement strengthens Emirates NBD Egypt’s wealth management offering by providing clients with access to a broader selection of equity investment opportunities, including conventional and Shariah-compliant funds, helping them diversify their portfolios in line with their financial objectives and risk preferences.
The partnership builds on a relationship dating back to 2018, when Emirates NBD Egypt launched its first mutual fund and appointed EFG Hermes Asset Management as its fund manager. The latest agreement extends the reach of EFG Hermes’ investment expertise to a wider client base through the bank’s distribution network.
Mustafa Ramzi, Head of Retail Banking & Wealth Management at Emirates NBD Egypt, said the agreement marks a natural progression of the two institutions’ longstanding relationship and reflects the bank’s commitment to developing its wealth management and investment services.
He added that Emirates NBD Egypt aims to provide an integrated platform offering a wider range of investment solutions, including Shariah-compliant products, alongside advice and services tailored to clients’ individual financial goals and needs.
Nabil Moussa, Head of Asset Management at EFG Hermes, said expanding access to professional fund management remains a key objective of the partnership. He noted that making the two equity funds available through Emirates NBD Egypt gives more clients access to EFG Hermes’ investment capabilities and a choice of strategies aligned with their financial objectives.
Moussa added that the companies see opportunities to introduce additional investment products in the future, building on their relationship since 2018 and responding to clients’ evolving needs.
The expanded partnership combines Emirates NBD Egypt’s customer reach with EFG Hermes’ asset management expertise, aiming to make professionally managed equity investments more accessible to clients in Egypt. It also supports the bank’s broader strategy to develop a comprehensive wealth management proposition that caters to different investment priorities.
