Knowledge Economic City (KEC), the Saudi-listed master developer, has partnered with global hospitality agency TGP International to develop and operate a new Food Hall at Multaqa AlMadinah in Madinah.
The new destination will bring together a curated selection of local, regional and international dining concepts, creating a social space where residents, visitors and pilgrims can dine, gather and enjoy a diverse range of experiences throughout the day and evening.
The partnership was formalized during Retail Congress MENA 2026 (RECON) in Dubai, where KEC participated as a Platinum Sponsor.
Located at the heart of Knowledge Economic City, Multaqa AlMadinah forms part of KEC’s 6.8 million-square-meter masterplan, which integrates residential, hospitality, retail, education and leisure components into a connected destination.
The new Food Hall is planned as a key food and beverage and social dining anchor within Multaqa AlMadinah. Its development is expected to add a new dimension to the visitor experience while supporting the destination’s ambition to become a year-round hub for residents, visitors and pilgrims.
KEC’s hospitality pipeline is expected to support growing demand across retail, dining and entertainment, with more than 10,000 hospitality keys targeted by 2029 and approximately 42,000 keys envisioned at full development.
TGP International will lead the Food Hall’s development and operations, covering F&B strategy and master planning, concept development, interior design, brand and operator curation, operational planning and ongoing operations management.
Abdulrahman Zolaly, Mall Manager at KEC, and Ryan Waddell, Head of Operations at TGP International, formalized the agreement, marking the next phase in the development of the Food Hall.
Dr. Moath Al-Yahya, CEO of Knowledge Economic City, said the Food Hall represents an important addition to the experience being developed at Multaqa AlMadinah, with the ambition of creating a destination that extends beyond traditional retail to combine dining, hospitality, leisure and social experiences.
Simon Wright, Founder and Chairman of TGP International, said the Food Hall would serve as a distinctive culinary and social anchor within Multaqa AlMadinah, bringing together a compelling mix of concepts and encouraging residents and visitors to gather, explore and return throughout the day and evening.
TGP International has developed food hall and hospitality destinations across the Middle East, with regional projects including Al Mamlaka Social Dining in Riyadh and Msheireb Food Hall in Doha, alongside F&B strategy and master-planning assignments across the Kingdom.
