Huawei is participating for the first time in the Egypt Mining Forum 2026, showcasing its expertise in digital power and clean energy technologies, along with solutions designed to help mining operations achieve greater reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.
Held under the auspices of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and hosted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, the forum brings together government representatives, mining industry leaders, investors, and key stakeholders to discuss the development of Egypt’s mining sector and emerging opportunities across the industry.
During the forum, Huawei is highlighting its approach to combining digital technologies, power electronics, and renewable energy to address the evolving energy requirements of industrial operations. The company’s solutions are designed to strengthen power infrastructure, enhance energy efficiency, and facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources.
These capabilities are particularly relevant to mining operations located in remote and off-grid areas, where maintaining a reliable and resilient power supply can present significant operational challenges.
Tony Bu, CEO of Huawei Egypt Digital Power Business, is taking part in the forum’s discussions, sharing Huawei Digital Power’s perspective on the role of technology in supporting the continued development of Egypt’s mining sector. His participation also provides an opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders on emerging opportunities at the intersection of energy, digitalization, and mining.
A key highlight of Huawei’s participation is the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a strategic industry partner, establishing a framework for collaboration and exploring opportunities to deploy Huawei Digital Power technologies across the mining sector.
