Cyshield Launches AI Coverage Analyzer on Ericsson EIAP

Cyshield has launched Coverage Analyzer, its first rApp developed for the Ericsson Intelligent Automation Platform (EIAP), introducing an AI-powered solution designed to help mobile operators identify radio coverage issues and improve network performance and customer experience.

The solution provides operators with continuous, network-wide visibility into radio coverage by converting raw network data into actionable insights for engineering teams. It automates key aspects of coverage analysis, reducing reliance on traditional approaches such as drive tests, manual assessments, and lengthy network optimization cycles.

Coverage Analyzer identifies three common coverage challenges: overshooting cells, which serve users beyond their intended coverage areas and can cause interference; undershooting cells, which create coverage gaps around the edges of their intended service areas; and dead spots, where users experience weak or no connectivity.

Built natively on EIAP, the rApp enables operators to integrate coverage insights directly into existing network optimization workflows, helping accelerate the process of identifying and addressing network issues. The solution aims to improve coverage, increase throughput, and deliver a more consistent experience for subscribers.

Commenting on the launch, Mostafa Eissa, Chief Executive Officer of Cyshield, said the introduction of the company’s first rApp marks an important milestone and reflects its vision of network operations that are open, programmable, and increasingly powered by artificial intelligence.

He added that building on Ericsson’s Intelligent Automation Platform represents a practical step toward applying AI to network challenges that operators and their customers encounter daily.

Mahmoud Nour, Digital Intelligence & Analytics Senior Director at Cyshield, said the company developed Coverage Analyzer to translate network optimization expertise into AI-driven analysis that can continuously assess individual cells across the network.

He explained that the solution provides engineers with specific insights into which cells require attention, the nature of the problem, and its location. Its integration with EIAP also allows these insights to feed directly into network automation workflows.

Khaled Taher, Director of Product Management at Cyshield, said operators often face difficulties converting network-wide coverage data into actionable insights and prioritizing the issues with the greatest potential impact.

He noted that Coverage Analyzer addresses this challenge by transforming coverage analytics into prioritized recommendations, helping engineering teams focus on issues that matter most to network performance and customer experience.

The launch marks Cyshield’s first step in developing rApps for Ericsson’s Intelligent Automation Platform, with a focus on applying AI to practical challenges in mobile network operations.
