Under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and with the support of Chamber of Apparel and Home Textile Industries at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, the 82nd edition of the Cairo Fashion & Tex exhibition will take place from 2 to 4 October, alongside Cairo Mother and La Pyjama exhibitions.
The event will cover approximately 40,000 sqm, including all halls of convention center and outdoor areas, and will be organised by Pyramids Group for Organizing International Exhibitions and Conferences.
The new edition will bring together more than 850 local and international brands across the ready-made garments, fabrics, and production supplies sectors. It will also feature a hosted-buyer programme for more than 1,000 visitors and buyers from 18 countries, supporting direct business connections between Egyptian companies and international markets.
Dr. Mohamed El-Sherif, Chairman of Pyramids Group for Organizing International Exhibitions and Conferences, said that holding Cairo Fashion & Tex, Cairo Mother, and La Pyjama concurrently gives the current edition a broader scope in terms of products, exhibitors, and visitors, particularly as the three exhibitions cover complementary segments of the garment industry.
He added that the 82nd edition aims to strengthen business links between Egyptian companies and international buyers through the hosted-buyer programme and direct meetings, allowing exhibitors to showcase their products and production capabilities while gaining a better understanding of the needs of international markets.
El-Sherif noted that the countries targeted under the hosted-visitor programme include Libya, Algeria, Jordan, Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon, Brazil, Sweden, Iraq, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Yemen, Indonesia, and Spain.
He explained that international participation includes companies and brands from Egypt, Türkiye, China, India, Pakistan, France, and Hong Kong, adding greater diversity to the products and materials on display and creating opportunities for Egyptian companies to engage with their international counterparts.
El-Sherif noted that the exhibition covers various stages of the apparel and textile industry, from spinning and weaving, fabrics, and production supplies to manufacturing machinery and finished products.
Participating sectors include men’s apparel, covering casual, classic, and homewear; women’s apparel, including casual, classic, eveningwear, and homewear; underwear and lingerie; sportswear; knitwear; hosiery; various types of fabrics; spinning and weaving; machinery and production supplies for ready-made garments; as well as footwear, bags, and retail store fit-outs.
El-Sherif said exports are one of the main focuses of the current edition, noting that hosting international buyers is intended to provide Egyptian companies with direct opportunities to showcase their products and production capabilities and gain insight into the requirements of target markets.
He added that meetings between companies and buyers could help establish new business relationships and provide a better understanding of each market’s needs in terms of products, materials, and specifications, supporting companies’ efforts to develop their offerings and expand their customer base in international markets.
He noted that the nature of the apparel and textile sector, which encompasses multiple stages ranging from raw materials, spinning, and fabrics to manufacturing and finished products, makes the exhibition a platform bringing together different stakeholders across the industrial value chain in one place.
El-Sherif explained that the expansion of international participation and the hosted-buyer programme is taking place alongside efforts to develop the exhibition’s content and broaden the participation of specialised companies and industry stakeholders, in line with the needs of the sector and international markets.
Regarding the accompanying programme, El-Sherif disclosed that the new edition will feature a number of workshops and specialised sessions throughout the three-day exhibition, alongside the business activities. He said the workshops will highlight the integration of art and design, with the participation of a number of artists, including Mohamed Tharwat, Mai Selim, and Bushra, as well as leading fashion designers.
The programme will include free design workshops, in addition to a specialised workshop on fashion shows using artificial intelligence technologies to introduce participants to the latest applications of technology in the fashion industry, he explained.
The programme will also include a workshop led by Walid Khairy, owner of Cairo Design District, focusing on fashion education and design, as well as skills development in the field.
He added that the exhibition will also feature keynote sessions titled “Developing Egypt’s Industry and Supporting Exports,” held in cooperation with Entreprenelle throughout the event. The sessions will discuss opportunities to develop the industry, support entrepreneurs, and strengthen companies’ ability to access international markets.
El-Sherif disclosed that these activities aim to combine business, professional development, and knowledge sharing, while providing industry professionals and entrepreneurs with an opportunity to learn about the latest trends in design, technology, business development, and exports.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Chairman of Chamber of Apparel and Home Textile Industriesat at the Federation of Egyptian Industries, said ready-made garment exports reached around $2.14bn during the first seven months of 2026, compared with $1.87bn during the same period last year, marking 14% growth.
He noted that the increase in exports was driven by companies’ efforts, alongside government policies aimed at encouraging exporters and supporting their access to international markets.
Abdel Salam added that hosting international buyers as part of Cairo Fashion & Tex provides Egyptian companies with an opportunity to showcase their production capabilities and establish new business channels, particularly given the diversity of target markets.
He further pointed out that expanding the customer base and establishing a direct presence in international markets would support the sector’s plans to sustain export growth.
Abdel Salam added that the sector aims to maintain export growth in the coming period and reach around $4 billion by the end of 2026, compared with approximately $3.4bn in 2025.
He highlighted the importance of expanding participation in international exhibitions and holding direct meetings with buyers to better understand market requirements and develop Egyptian products in line with required specifications.
For his part, Adel El-Sherif, Chairman of Expo Book, the organiser of La Pyjama, said that holding the exhibition alongside Cairo Fashion & Tex and Cairo Mother aims to strengthen direct links between Egyptian companies and international buyers through three specialised exhibitions covering various segments of the ready-made garments industry.
He added that this will broaden the range of products and exhibitors while creating new opportunities for business cooperation with Arab and European markets.
He disclosed that holding La Pyjama alongside Cairo Fashion & Tex and Cairo Mother represents a significant development in the history of exhibitions and provides broader opportunities for stakeholders in Egypt and the Middle East’s ready-made garments industry, supported by greater product diversity and a focus on high quality.
El-Sherif indicated that the company continuously works to develop and diversify its offerings while providing services to its clients.
